George Byrd: Rampaging

Big ups to VCU for an amazing run to the Final Four. Here’s hoping they make history in Houston. VCU alumni and former basketball star is none other than Big George Byrd of the Hombres. Big ups are a Big Byrd specialty and are on display in the highlight below. If you watch closely, you can see the play develop. The Hombres swing the ball to the left side of the court and empty the right side of the court by cutting the gunners through to the ball side. The defense follows the gunners through the springs and realize too late that they’ve left the right side of the court wide open to the rampaging Byrd, who gets a free run at the springs full speed…an opposing stopper’s worst nightmare. Comment below.

  3. Bryce Arledge Swim Move

In a game between the Bandits and the Riders, the defenses are tight and there’s not much room to get free. Bryce Arledge utilizes a move popular among football players, the swim move, to make a play. Arledge goes past his defender by ‘swimming’ over him with his right arm...
  4. Rob Wilson in a BIG BOY Face-Off

Rob Wilson. Number one overall pick in the first-ever SlamBall draft. 6’9″ 260lbs. Ten-plus years as a highly sought after overseas pro basketball power forward. Only Canadian ever to play SlamBall. Rob was dominant that first season, never more so in drawing a Face-Off against an intimidating-in-his-own-right Rumble handler Jelani...
